Terms of Use

Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Legal Ladder. Please read them before using any tool on this site.

Last updated: 23 September 2026

Legal Ladder is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. Using this site creates no lawyer-client relationship between you and Legal Ladder, or between you and any lawyer who owns, controls, or is affiliated with Legal Ladder. Nothing you enter is confidential or privileged.

1. What Legal Ladder is

Legal Ladder is an information tool for healthcare operators. It reports what cited statutes and regulations address, and how those rules relate to facts you provide. It is general legal information and self-help material used at your own direction.

Legal Ladder does not tell you whether your arrangement is permitted, whether you are compliant, or what legal steps to take. It does not render legal conclusions, produce legal opinions, or make determinations of compliance.

2. Not a law firm, no lawyer-client relationship

3. Not legal advice

Output from Legal Ladder is not legal advice, is not a legal opinion, and is not a determination of compliance. You agree not to rely on it as a substitute for a licensed lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction.

You agree to verify every citation against the official source before relying on it. Laws and regulations change, and content on this site may be out of date.

4. Information you submit

Do not submit protected health information, patient identifiers, or confidential deal documents anywhere on this site. Legal Ladder is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate and has no business associate agreement with you. Nothing you enter is confidential or privileged.

Where your information goes depends on the product:

How we handle information across the site, including what we retain and for how long, is described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Speaking with a lawyer

If you ask to be introduced to a lawyer, that is a referral. Any law firm you contact is a separate entity from Legal Ladder. Engaging that firm creates a new relationship under that firm's own engagement terms, not under these terms.

Requesting a referral through this site does not retain any firm, and does not create a lawyer-client relationship with Legal Ladder.

6. No guarantee of accuracy or availability

Legal Ladder is provided as is. We do not warrant that content is complete, current, or free of error. Coverage varies by state and topic, and some questions fall outside the material we maintain.

7. Acceptable use

8. Accounts and eligibility

An account is optional. The free material stays open without one, so you can use the free parts of this site without giving us your name or email.

To create an account you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. If you create an account for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf, and "you" in these terms means both you and that organization.

When you create an account we collect your email address, a password, your name, and, if you choose to give it, the name of your organization. You agree to give accurate details and to keep them current. We may refuse or close an account at our discretion.

A seat is for one named person. Do not create an account on behalf of someone else without their knowledge, and do not use an account to give access to people who do not hold a seat.

9. Your responsibility for your account

10. Subscriptions and fees

The free material described on the Pricing page stays free and needs no account. Paid access is a subscription.

11. Suspension, termination, and closing your account

You may close your account at any time by emailing info@legalladder.ai. There is no self-service delete on the site yet, so please send the request and we will action it.

We may suspend or terminate an account, with notice where practical, if:

If we terminate for cause, we do not refund fees already paid for the current period. If we stop offering the service altogether, we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.

Sections 2, 3, 6, 7, 12, 14, and this sentence survive the end of your account.

12. What happens to your account data

When your account is deleted, the profile record we hold for it is deleted with it. That record is your email address, your name, your organization if you gave one, and your plan. Deletion of the account removes it automatically rather than leaving it behind.

Some material is not inside that record and does not go with it:

Answers you entered into Contract Scan, Forms Checklist, or a Risk Check were never sent to us, so there is nothing on our side to delete.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. This section will be finalized when counsel papers the entity.

15. Contact

Legal Ladder is not a law firm. This page is a terms of use notice, not legal advice.
